LSAW pipes are typically manufactured using specialized forming processes like UOE or JCOE, which bend and shape the steel plate before welding and final expansion. These pipes can be produced in large diameters (commonly 16³“60³ / 406mm“1524mm) with substantial wall thicknesses, making them suitable for high‘pressure and long‘distance applications.

LSAW (Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded) pipe is a type of large‘diameter welded steel pipe made by forming flat steel plates into a cylindrical shape and then joining the edges with a straight longitudinal weld using the submerged arc welding (SAW) process. In SAW, the welding arc is "submerged under a layer of granular flux, producing a strong, clean, dense, and uniform weld seam that runs parallel to the pipe™s length, giving the pipe excellent mechanical properties such as high strength, toughness, and pressure resistance.
